Chocolate Candies cutters are available individually, as a set of 5, or as a multi-cutter with an optional dough popper. The multi-cutter is available in 2 different versions. Each version has different advantages.

Set of 5 includes: circle, rounded square, candy bar, mini chocolate oval, and heart.

Multi-cutter includes all 5 shapes fused together into one cutter.

Multi-Cutter Version 1: this is the original 2020 multi-cutter design. The advantage of this cutter is that it takes up less space and you won't have to re-roll as much dough. The cutters are spaced close together to minimize off cuts. However dough does tend to get stuck in the spaces between the cutters. Using this cutter with the popper does help a lot, but you may still have to clean dough out from the cutter between cuts. When using cold dough, or if your cookie shapes tend to stick in mini cutters, the optional dough popper is helpful to push the cookie dough from the multi-cutter without denting the cookie. The popper also allows you to pop them out directly on a baking sheet to make cutting out large batches of cookies easier and faster.

Multi-Cutter Version 2: in 2022 this cutter was redesigned to eliminate the small spaces between the cutters so that dough wouldn't get stuck in the cutter. However, the shapes are more spaced out so there is more left over dough to re-roll with each cut.

Just ok

Honestly, i found i didn't need the popper attachment to pop the dough out of the cutters. If you're using chilled dough it was completely unnecessary. The cutters themselves are great.

HI Laureen! The popper is optional for the Chocolate Candies Multi-cutter because you're right - it's not 100% necessary with this size multi-cutter. Depending on how cold your dough is, some do find it helpful and I've had customers request that I make them for some of my mini mini multi-cutters (this one was requested last year). If your dough is closer to frozen then the shapes do tend to get stuck in the cutter more in my experience and you can then use the multi-cuter to pick up the cookie shapes and pop them out directly over your baking sheet (instead of having them come out on your parchment or baking pan and then transferring with a spatula.) But if your dough is not as cold, then it's probably not necessary. Id say if you find yourself pushing cookies out of your mini cutters a lot with your finger or a tool because you use really cold dough, then this popper would be helpful. But if that is not an issue you have then you don't need it. Hope that helps!

This is such a great cutter/plunger. It works perfectly and was perfect for Valentines Day cookies.
